Fresh & Found Texture Lab

Theme/description: Fresh & Found Texture Lab is a community art experience that invites participants to slow down and reconnect with the colorful and tactile world through printmaking. The workshop starts with a guided grounding exercise incorporating the sensory experience of art materials. Using fresh fruits, recycled cardboard, leaves, and other found materials, participants will explore the unique textures, patterns, and impressions that emerge through observation, touch, and creative experimentation.

This beginner-friendly workshop emphasizes the restorative value of process-based artmaking. The repetitive actions of pressing, rubbing, layering, and printing encourage mindfulness, sensory awareness, and creative play, offering opportunities to become more present and attuned to one's surroundings. As familiar objects are transformed into unexpected visual compositions, participants are invited to embrace curiosity, imperfection, and discovery.

Through shared making, the workshop also fosters connection---to ourselves, to one another, and to the everyday materials that often go unnoticed. The resulting prints become visual records of both texture and experience, celebrating the beauty found in ordinary objects while supporting creative expression, relaxation, and personal reflection.
